NVTopal
htop for NVIDIA GPUs
NVTopal is a terminal-based GPU monitoring tool that gives you real-time visibility into your NVIDIA hardware. See utilization, memory, temperature, power, clock speeds, fan speeds, and running processes at a glance.
Real-Time Monitoring
Monitor all your NVIDIA GPUs from a single terminal window. NVTopal displays live sparkline graphs for GPU utilization, memory usage, temperature, power consumption, clock speeds, and fan speeds across every device in your system. CPU load averages shown alongside GPU metrics for a complete system picture.
Process Monitoring
See which processes are consuming GPU resources. Sort by GPU index, utilization, memory, or power draw. Follow a specific process to track its resource usage over time. Search and filter the process list in real time.
Keyboard-Driven Interface
Navigate entirely with your keyboard. Switch between GPUs, sort by different metrics, search for processes, adjust the history time scale, and access a setup screen for configuration -- all without touching a mouse.
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| F1 | Help screen |
| F2 | Setup/configuration |
| F5 | Cycle sort mode |
| F6 | Search filter |
| F9 | Kill process (SIGTERM) |
| Arrow keys | Select GPU, adjust time scale |
| Tab | Page through process list |
| f | Follow process mode |
Configurable
Customize refresh rates, layout dimensions, sort order, and history depth through a YAML configuration file. Sensible defaults mean it works out of the box with no setup required.
Per-Model GPU Specs
NVTopal includes a lookup table of per-model GPU specifications, providing accurate TDP and memory information for your specific hardware rather than relying on generic estimates.
